Um tónleikana
Á tónleikunum verður flutt tónlist við myndina "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" eftir Matthew Barney og Stephan Stephensen og er óður til Ólafs Stephensen jazzgeggjara og auglýsingamanns sem féll frá 2016.
Myndin lýsir á óhlutbundinn hátt einhverskonar jarðaför en á sama tíma lífshlaupi, nýrri byrjun og frelsi. Á tónleikunum flytja The Emotional Carpenters tónlistina lifandi við myndina í fyrsta skipti. Lagið er amerískt þjóðlag og vinsæll jarðarfararsálmur í New Orleans.
The Emotional Carpenters - Sonny Greco er sjötta ævintýrið af tuttugu og fjórum í seríunni "Les Aventures de President Bongo" sem er einstaklega metnaðarfullt langtímaverkefni þar sem Stephan hefur vélað til samtarfs við sig hina ýmsu listamenn úr öllum áttum.

Um Stephan
Stephan Stephensen (1971) er ólíkindatól sem fundið hefur hatt sinn undir tréi tilfinninganna á verkstæði tilfinningasmiðsins. Á sínum skrautlega ferli hefur Stephan, eða President Bongo eins og hann kýs að kalla sig, byggt, beygt og skorið út list sína á þann hátt að hún hefur snert hjörtu og hug óteljandi sála.
Að loknu sveinsprófi hóf Stephan sína meistaraiðn með fjöllistahópnum Gusgus sem hóf göngu sína 1995. Þar voru verkefnin mörg og fjölbreytileg; hönnun, ljósmyndun, kvikmyndun, tónlist og framleiðsla. Innan hópsins var okkar manni ekkert óviðkomandi. Árið 2015 ákvað Stephan hins vegar að segja skilið við Gusgus með það eitt að leiðarljósi; að einbeita sér að sinni eigin list.

About the concert
The film "Just a Closer Walk With Thee" by Matthew Barney and Stephan Stephensen is a tribute to Ólafur Stephensen, a jazz lover and advertising man who passed away in 2016. The film describes in an abstract way a funeral but at the same time a new beginning, a lifespan and freedom.
The music to the film will be performed live for the first time. The piece is an American folksong; a New Orleans funeral march.
The Emotional Carpenters - Sonny Greco is the sixth adventure of twenty four in the series "Les Aventures de President Bongo" which is a longterm art project by Reykjavik based artist Stephan Stephensen aka President Bongo.

About Stephan
Stephan Stephensen (b.1971) aka Gluteus Maximus & President Bongo wears many hats, but likes to refer to himself as ‘an emotional carpenter’. And the name is fitting: throughout his illustrious career, Bongo has built, tooled, shaped and reconstructed reality in a manner that has touched upon the emotional spheres of millions, greatly increasing their quality of life and inner harmony in the process. President Bongo began properly mastering his craft as a founding member of the pioneering electronic band GusGus, which has steadily gone from strength to strength since forming in 1995. As GusGus evolved and progressed through the years Bongo remains a key element, making innumerable contributions through his work, which has ranged from design, film & photography to songwriting and production. In spring 2015, however, President Bongo leaves GusGus after 20 years of loyal service to become his own master's voice.
