The festival will take place in several concert halls in Reykjavík including in the cultural and social centre Harpa in downtown Reykjavík. The building was designed by the Danish firm Henning Larsen Architects in co-operation with Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson and has won several awards for architecture including Mies van der Rohe in 2013. The prestigious music magazine Gramophone named Harpa one of the best concert halls of the new millennium.
Harpa is beautifully situated by the sea in the heart of the city and can easily be reached by foot from most accommodations in the city centre.
